This upcoming conference will be hosted by The University of Manitoba, in Winnipeg, MB. We acknowledge we are gathered on Treaty 1 Territory and that Manitoba is located on the Treaty Territories and ancestral lands of the Anishinaabeg, Anishininewuk, Dakota Oyate, Denesuline and Nehethowuk Nations. We acknowledge Manitoba is located on the Homeland of the Red River Métis. We acknowledge northern Manitoba includes lands that were and are the ancestral lands of the Inuit.

As visitors to this land, it is important that we honour and respect the Indigenous communities as its stewards. We recognise that we would not be able to have this conference today if it were not for their ongoing care, protection, and deep relationship with the land. We further acknowledge the harms and mistakes of the past, and we dedicate ourselves to move forward in partnership with Indigenous communities in a spirit of Reconciliation and collaboration.
