This upcoming conference will be hosted by The University of British Columbia, in Vancouver, BC. We would like to acknowledge that the land on which we gather is the unceded territory of the Coast Salish Peoples, including the territories of the xwməθkwəy̓əm (Musqueam), Skwxwú7mesh (Squamish), Stó:lō and Səl̓ílwətaʔ/Selilwitulh (Tsleil- Waututh) Nations.

As visitors to this land, it is important that we honour and respect the Indigenous communities as its stewards. We recognize that we would not be able to have this conference today if it were not for their ongoing care, protection, and deep relationship with the land. We further acknowledge the harms and mistakes of the past, and we dedicate ourselves to move forward in partnership with Indigenous communities in a spirit of Reconciliation and collaboration.

As many of you are joining us from across the country, we encourage you to be curious and learn about the land you reside on through resources like Native Land Map and Whose Land:

EngiQueers Canada is back, organizing the 2026 edition of their award winning Conference, to further foster connections between queer students in STEM.

Over four days, industry professionals, member groups, and student leaders will transfer knowledge, discuss challenges student advocacy groups face, and provide tangible ways to address them.

Delegates will leave with the resources they need to promote EDI on campus, connect with their local community, and run a thriving and sustainable organization.

Programming for the conference will align with our three pillars :

Professional Development

Delegates will hear from industry experts and have opportunities to network with professionals in a variety of settings, including a Career Fair.

Education & Advocacy

Delegates will collaborate and discuss ways of promoting EDI (Equity, Diversity and Inclusion) in their roles as leaders in their communities.

Social Connection

The conference will be an excellent opportunity to foster connection between our members and inspire the next cohort of EQ Canada leaders.
